Chinese Junior Reporters (Dian Dian Di Di) Vol.2 – 2022

National Primary Schools Chinese Calligraphy Competition 2023

Our students had the opportunity to experience the writing of Chinese characters as an art form by participating in the National Primary Schools Chinese Calligraphy Competition 2023. The competition was jointly organised by Hong Wen School and Hong Wen Alumni. The aim of the competition was to cultivate the appreciation of Chinese culture through calligraphy.
STEM Playground – Satay Stick Challenge

Get inspired through STEM! Our P5 students participated in the STEM Playground Challenge organised by Science Centre Singapore in Term 1. For this challenge, students were tasked to build bridges that could hold at least five books using satay sticks.
Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition 2023

Our P4 students represented our school by taking part in the annual Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition on 20 March. This competition is organised by DSO National Laboratories and Science Centre Singapore to encourage students to learn more about the theories of flight and aerodynamics, and implement their creative ideas into real flying machines.
Science Educational Talk – Birds

A group of parrot enthusiasts visited Blangah Rise Primary to share about their experiences as owners of pet parrots! They shared with our staff and students the proper care for parrots. They also linked the educational talk to what the students have learnt in their Science textbooks.
Science Lesson with K2 students – Human Digestive System

Teachers from the Science Department conducted a lesson for the K2 students on the Human Digestive System. They were taught how food they eat is transformed into the energy they use every day. Using visuals aids and resources like strings, tennis ball and foldable paper ball, the teachers helped students relate and understand the difference.
Term 1 Inter-House Games

Term 1 Inter-House Games We concluded Term 1 with an Inter-House Games where our students applied sports skills and knowledge learnt during House Practice in a competitive setting. Our P3 students participated in a Walk-A-Jog at Telok Blangah Hill Park. This was a first for them as they enjoyed a challenging yet fun route planned.
Rentas Pantas 2023

Learning takes place anywhere and beyond the classrooms. On 4 March, our Primary 5 students Siti, Dani and Daniel from 5 Sapphire, Wani and Shaziqah from 5 Topaz, represented our school in Rentas Pantas 2023. Rentas Pantas, is an event organised by Nanyang Technological University / National Institute of Education Malay Language and Cultural Society.
Wits and Words 2023 Inter-school Debate Competition

Congratulations to our BRPS debate team! Our Senior Primary students – Gail, Athan, Nathanael, Hong Rian and Khush won against Ai Tong Primary School in Round 1 of Wits and Words 2023 Inter-school Debate Competition, on the motion of restricting school to 4-day week.
Total Defence Day 2023

We commemorate Total Defence Day on 15 February to mark Singapore’s surrender to the Japanese in World War II. The theme for 2023 is “Together We Keep Singapore Strong”. Everyone in the community can do their part to keep Singapore safe and strong. The focus is on how students can put Total Defence into action.
Go Team!

This year, Blangah Rise Primary and First Toa Payoh Primary came together as a combined football team to participate in National School Games (NSG) 2023. While the student-athletes may come from different schools and diverse backgrounds.
APEX students launch third issue of BRavo!

As part of the English Department’s aim to give students a voice to share their thoughts and views through writing, we welcome the third edition of BRavo!, a publication by students for students. Over several months of meetings, our budding writers in the APEX-EL Writing Programme had fun stretching their imagination and writing potential.
Lunar New Year Celebration 2023

Blangah Rise had celebrated Lunar New Year on 20 January. This year was very special as the whole school could finally gather and celebrate the festival after two years of online activities. Our confident emcees, Catherine and Ameer (both from 5 Sapphire) took us through the entire concert.
