Learning Journey for P5: Indian Heritage Centre

On 4th March, the Primary 5 students embarked on an enriching learning journey to the Indian Heritage Centre. This visit provided them with a deeper understanding of the history and contributions of the Indian and South Asian communities in the Southeast Asian region.
During the visit, students explored various exhibits showcasing the migration, culture, and achievements of Indians in Singapore. Minh Anh from 5 Opal shared that she particularly enjoyed learning about different spices and took a liking to cloves due to their sweet fragrance. Additionally, she found the traditional Indian clothing to be beautiful.
Arihant from 5 Topaz was intrigued by the contributions of Indians to Singapore. He learnt about their role in shaping Singapore’s economy, including the establishment of the country’s first bank.
Overall, the visit to the Indian Heritage Centre was an eye-opening experience for the students. They gained valuable knowledge about the heritage, traditions, and contributions of the Indian community, making this learning journey both educational and enjoyable.
