Sang Nila Utama, landed at Telok Blangah
Then came Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of our island
Living in Telok Blangah, so rich in history
How I love Telok Blangah, a special place to me
Temenggong Abdul Rahman, and Munshi Abdullah
Keppel, Faber, Saint James, how they have made their mark
Living in Telok Blangah, so rich in history
How I love Telok Blangah, a special place to me
Then came the kampongs, amid the swamps and trees
They made way for the new town, built by HDB
Being an open city, welcoming different cultures
With self-determination, we’ll forge a bright new future
Children, it’s up to us now, to build on history
Writing our next new chapter, our Singapore story
A green and gracious city, caring for the elderly
A fifth tap for our nation, these are our hopes and dreams
Children, it’s up to us now, to build on history
Writing our next new chapter, our Singapore story
